Vintage wallpaper

365 Cards -Day 23 -Stencil it- I've used a plastic decorating stencil for the diamonds and part of a brass stencil to make my card.As usual I had no idea when I started what the end result would be.I was thinking vintage wallpaper. I aged a cream card with gold before I started stencilling.I decorated a spare piece of card with the same design, stamped the sentiment and attached with ribbon.

Who's that in the tree ?

365 Cards -Day 22 -Movie Monday-the new release of Alice in Wonderland starring the very talented Johnny Depp is our inspiration for today. By now you should know who's in the tree.

Still not sure ,why it's the Cheshire Cat. As soon as the card was finished I realised I could have done so much more. I should have made a sliding screen at the back of the tree to cover up the cat completely. Too late now.
The image is from S2G.

A Spring Flower

I hope you all had a good weekend ,the men are back in the garden this morning so I am going along to my local craft store for a free card making demo. It has an Asian theme so I hope it will inspire me .

Fabric Flowers

365 Cards Day 19 -Imagine this -Cotton.

When I think cotton I think fabric because I enjoy sewing. My flowers are made from cotton print fabric and lace with a sparkly brad.
This is my second attempt at a card for this challenge so if you think this one is rubbish you should have seen the first one. It would be lovely if I could have a whole week when I liked all the cards I made.

Cute Daisy May- anything goes
The Creative Cottage-Challenge 2 - Flowers
Crafty Catz - challenge 24 - Spring -It's time to plant those seeds.

Pretty in Pink

This was my final selection of papers to chose from ,the pink and orange vellum on the left reminds of the beautiful saris I've seen in India but it had to go.Two of the papers I've used were given to me by my lovely friend Jeanne in South Australia. You can never have too many friends like that.

How many times have you looked at your craft stash and said "I'm not buying anymore stuff".We all have I'm sure ,but when you're given a challenge that involves different paper designs we never have enough.

365 Cards challenge Day 18- Plentiful Paper,Use 3 or more of these Gingham,Paisley,Plaid,Houndstooth or Toile.

Just Hello

Happy Friday out there.I've had a busy week ,my garden has been full of men disrupting my usual peace and quiet. They've laid a new drive and landscaped the gardens areas,it's very tidy but not nice to look at.I'm a bit of a wilderness person myself ,I asked my husband if we should gather together all the snails to keep them safe until the work was finished,he declined to comment. We have much needed rain this morning,a sound I love to hear. The rest of the week has been sunny and very warm, this sunset picture was taken from our deck on Wednesday evening ,the light colour across the bottom of picture is the Tamar river. I haven't enhanced or tampered with the pic in anyway it was just a beautiful sky.

A New Arrival

I was so busy making cards yesterday I didn't even say hello when I posted on my blog.If you were celebrating St. Pats Day I hope the hangover is not too bad and for the rest us it's always good to get to Wednesday, half way to the weekend. I've taken quite a shine to the vintage images on offer at Digital Two for Tuesday.I hope I can make something with the second image which is also baby related.

I wasn't sure how best to add a little detail to the drapes ,I finally decide a fine line of glue and a little glitter. It works for me.
Sophisticat- challenge 23 - New Beginnings
My Time To Craft -challenge 83- Lovely lace -the trim and the ribbon are cut from a net curtain.

Circle Frenzy

365 Cards - Day 12 - Circle Frenzy

It's almost 4.20pm and I'm posting my card,I think this is the earliest I've been.I need to set aside some time each day for the 365 card challenge or I will never make it through until the end of the year.

The background paper is from Momenta and I just love the colours. It's such a busy paper I thought I had better keep the rest of the card simple .The paper for the tree I made myself using similar colours to draw circles on handmade paper.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, with luck I will be back later with another card for 365.

All challenged out

The last two days have been hard challenges for me at 365 Cards.

Day 10 -Wacky Colour Wednesday-Purple,Blue and Orange-the image is called 'Balancing Act ' from Delightful Inspirations.
The layout is from Unscripted Sketches challenge 14.

I stamped orange card with a dark blue swirl and added my birdies.

365 Cards Day 11- Lovely Landscapes .I thought my only option for this was a paper covered in snowflakes or Christmas trees but then I remembered this beautiful oriental inspired paper with the silver branches and butterflies.I've used a leaf punch with some beautiful vellum to add a few leaves, I think I need to add a couple more.

Is it ready yet ?

These patient children are waiting for their hot chocolate.I've used a vintage image which can be found here.
Susie and Vikki's Christmas Club - challenge 7 -Hot chocolate

I hope your day is going well so far. When I went into my craft room this morning I had no idea my creation would turn out so well,I'm amazed. All the items on here were made using a very cheap plastic stencil which was part of a children's craft set.

365 Cards days 6 and 7

Day 6 -Stampin Saturday -Stamp an image using more than one colour ink.My butterfly started out lilac then onto green and then dark blue.

Day 7 Super Sketchy Sunday .The image is China Belle from Digital Doodling.I bought this paper way back in October and this is the first chance I've had to use it. It came from a shop selling beautiful paper and notelets. When I went in the shelves were empty as they were closing down and just had bits and pieces left.

365 Cards .Hooray I'm up to date if only for a few hours.I'm amazed ,but this is only one week still another 51 to go .Will I make it to the very end,I hope so and I will give it my best shot.

Easter Greetings

Its the start of a new month and this is Faith's freebie 'Patches ' the bunny from Designed2Delight Digital stamps.I really struggled this morning to make any cards at all.My inspiration seems to have flown out the window.I should choose my paper and colour scheme before I start to colour the images in.

365 Cards days 5

A very Happy Sunday out there in Blog land.Despite my best efforts on Friday to play catch up I am one day behind again. I did manage do a whole hour of housework on Friday and even cooked some Chinese red pork for dinner with noodles.

365 Cards Day 5 Fancy Folds . I've never made a petal card before and I'm not sure if I like them or not.I did however have lots of fun punching circles, adding the lace and my favourite of all the image which is so cute and came from Renate at Hobby-Paleis.

This is my inside flattened out so it's easy to see.I'm cooking a leg of lamb for dinner (I've spiked it with lots of fresh rosemary and slivers of garlic ) Sorry veggies don't mean to cause offence. If I have time I might get my card for day six finished.

365 Cards days 1 to 4

Day 1 - Colour combo -Brown Beige,Red ,White and Blue. I bought a pack of these cute die cut cars way back in October and this is the first one I've used.

Day 2 - Silver,Pearl and Circle - The glove pattern is from a book on paper cutting which I bought from a local charity shop.

Day 3 - String Art-I hand cut the flower, rubbed chalk around the edges and then wrapped with thread. The stems and leaves are drawn by hand.

Day 4 - A sketch-White Space .Only the top corner and a band across the bottom.

I think I need to lay down for the rest of the day.I had the silly idea to join in this challenge and had to make 4 cards to get me up to speed. The bed isn't made, the floors not washed,I will have to run around and try to get my jobs done when I have finished this post. Having said all that I do like the cards I've made which makes a change,I usually want to throw them away.
365 Cards At a glance.
Day 1 - Colour combination of blue ,brown ,red, white and beige. I know my red bits look orange ,I will try and get a better piccie later.
Day 2- Circle,Silver,Pearl - You can see all these elements on my card.
Day 3 - String Art - I hand cut the flower shape and wrapped thread across it.
Day 4 - White Space - Only the top corner and a strip across were allowed.

Hippo Flower

The start of another week, I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. If you joined in the Owly challenge last week at Digi Kitty then you should have your Hippo for the next challenge. My little offering is very simple but it I'm really pleased with it. I love to cut different shapes for the backgrounds, the pink eyelets were just the right colour and size.
