I'ts Bigger and Better in Launceston

Ash Crafts and Gifts have expanded their store and now offer a great range of all your crafting goodies - I popped in this morning and had a good look round - they have a great selection of dies ,papers , stamps, stencils ,inks and lots of tools and kit to get you started -   for lazy people like me some fab flowers all ready to stick on a card .

The shop is located in Launceston city center - just off the Quadrant Mall next to the Grain Grocers.

Mid year round up

I've noticed that when January comes around many of you share your favourite makes for the past 12 months. I thought I would do mine now so here are a few of my ' I quite like that ' creations - you will notice that I have a few images that I just love to use again and again.

Add your own touches

We've all done it  - bought beautiful paper and by the time we add an image and a sentiment ,possibly a few embellishments and our fab paper is hard to see. I loved this paper but it was a bit drab so I added the white dots on the darkest leaves - the light brown leaves I added lots of shading around the edges and veins with a sepia pencil , the leaves pop out a bit more now and I can still see my original paper. This paper is perfect for a male cards- I think it might be Graphic45.

Peel Off Poppies

It you're anything like me you buy a few peel offs and then don't know what to do with them. I stuck mine onto acetate and added some glass paints- these work really well but you have to be patient as they take a while to dry - mine took ages yesterday but it was very cold - ice on the INSIDE yes the inside of the       kitchen windows. The papers I used are from 7 Gypsies and This and That.

As You Like It- challenge 55 - Favourite Flower- I just love California Poppies - The vibrant red colour and the way the petals open to reveal the black and yellow stamens- nothing looks better waving in the wind.

Sparkle and Shine

My stamp is from Cuddly Buddly called ' Little High Flyer '  and I've had it for a very long time. I love the glitter and sequins but I think I will remove the blue strips from the corners- I really don't like them.
