Little bird version 2

After my first real attempt at multiply stamping on patterned paper I decided it was worth a second try. I picked a paper with just a hint of a pattern and then went mad with multiple stamps - all shown below

I used 9 different stamps - a gold stamp pad and a white gel pen. I'm not sure it's  quite right but I am getting better with practice.

keeping it simple

My husband makes fun of me  - in the nicest possible way - food should always taste yummy but it does no harm if it looks good as well - a simple can of vegetable soup - I always add a drizzle  of cream or crème fresh or yoghurt add then a sprinkle of paprika - picture perfect. Have a look in your fridge and at your spices next time you open a can of soup.

It would be lovely if I had a big freezer -I would make my own soups - I do like to make savoury flans ( who decides if it's a quiche or a flan ) I made 3 sizes - some have bacon - some have spinach and some have chorizo - the thing they all have is cheese - eggs and onion - I never fry the onions - I boil small amount of milk in pan -add the chopped onions and turn off the heat - I leave it to go cold then strain out the onion keeping the milk to add the eggs.

I also made a whole orange cake and to make a drizzle I boiled down some freshly squeezed orange juice along with a tablespoon of orange marmalade . I don't think this will around for very long - it is yummy.

A little bird

Most of my cards are very simple and also very boring - I don't added lots of flowers or bulky embellishments , I like things that are easy to post. I decided to have a go at stamping and shading onto patterned paper. I think this is a sheet from Graphic45 . I added the bird stamp and blue shading round the bird - the sentiment - white dots and the blue diamonds - I'm not sure if I should have added more but I quite like results .

A few cards to use up my stash

I have no idea when I bought this 12x12 pack of Christmas papers, there are 5 patterned sheets and one with images to cut out-  it came from my local discount store. Some of the papers are a bit drab and some are fuzzy ,obviously badly printed. I can probably make quite a few cards with the good bits .

I chopped out the reindeer image and mounted it twice - on red then white cardstock - the bottom section of the card looked a bit empty so I punched a few shapes (stars, snowflakes , tiny trees ) from the same paper and glued them on.

The santa and the reindeer strip were cut from the image sheet and stuck on one of the background sheets. The white bits on the santa and the deer were a beige colour and didn't really stand out so I used a white gel pen to add a bit of contrast.

This stripey paper already had the baubles printed on it - I just cut out the Christmas stockings from the image sheet and added a sentiment .

christmas candles

I used coloured pencils for this image - the background paper is very dark green which looks  almost black in the pic.

Christmas baubles

A chance to use up some peel offs - the white base card seems to have a slight sheen to it and the inks just didn't want to play nice - the sentiment stamp is a bit wacky - not sure if I like it .

Beccy's Place - November card challenge - day 2 'B' is for BAUBLES .

a little bit christmas

This sweet little angel was coloured using my AquaMarkers - glossy accents added to the berries and her pink cheeks - a wink of stella added to her wings.

a little bit of love

Passion for Promarkers - week 467 Halloween colours - green -orange- purple and black. I love the quirky giraffes- they make me smile - coloured with aquamarkers - the washi tape is the same dark purple as the flowers and the gems - I took several photos but they all look the same - not sure why the colour is wrong.

celebrate

I think there is enough white to call this card CAS . I used watercolour pencils in shades of brown ,orange and green for the challenge at CAS watercolour challenge .

Using up old stuff

I realised when this was posted I had forgotten to colour the 3 flowers around the edges - that has now been done.

how many of you still have old peel offs in gold and silver - I have quite a few and some black ones which I thought were very smart at the time - and that time is probably 14 or more years ago - I cannot count the number of times I've put them in my craftroom waste bin only to rescue them 5 minutes later - just in case.

I wanted to recycle this Christmas card  - I loved the image - I had a card base in a colour called 'forest green' which matched the colour of the middle king -the gold mount around the edges works really well with the gold peel off border and sentiment.

I WILL use up all my peel offs - eventually - maybe - sometime - perhaps this should be my mantra.

BINGO at ProMarkers

This little bird stamp is from Stampavie and is used more than any other stamp I have . I could happily make all my cards with this stamp - it works with pale colours - dark tones for  Christmas -
I just love it and should probably buy a spare.

Passion for Promarkers - week 466 - BINGO - I did the diagonal - flowers -image- sentiment - coloured with AquaMarkers.

I've tried for a long time to add lots of layers - papers- flowers and to include lots of different colours but it's just not my style - for me less is better.

sweet baby

I played around using lots of stamps for this card - the little bear is from Cuddly Buddly - I used sentiment stamps from two other sets - and mixed lots of sample colours with the red and blue AquaMarkers to get the right shade of purple -I also mixed the yellow and orange.

a little bit christmas

I know I could have added so much more to this card but I really want it to be all about mice so I kept it simple.

It's very hard to see even with this cropped shot , I did add silver and white glitter under the feet of the mice and also used a white gel pen to add some snow in the sky.

Passion for Promarkers week 464 - Christmas is coming -love this LOTV image- so cute - I don't have a brown Promarker pen so a little mix of orange and green works really well .Thanks for my prize win last week - love my Promarkers.

I did ask myself are mice this colour - when Bella brings them home I don't really get a good look - she's a very vocal cat and when I ask her what she's got she meows to tell me and lets the mouse go - I go through the same process when she brings small lizards in the Summer.

A foxy little birthday

They say the camera never lies but the spotted paper on this card is pea green and matches the leaves on the fox and the sequin ,not sure what I can do to make it better , have taken lots and lots of pics but they always come out the same - hey ho.

Passion for ProMarkers  week 463 -  add a number - I love this little fox stamp- coloured with aquamarkers.

flower power

Passion for ProMarkers - 439 - blooming days- I used AquaMarkers on this lovely Poppy Power image - I stamped in grey instead of black for a softer outline.

thank you

Feeling Sketchy no  90 -  The sentiment is a peel off sticker which I think will have to replaced with a stamped sentiment - I've never been a fan of stickers and this one is awful - the owl was coloured using watercolour pencils.

modern card for DAD

Male cards are always a pain in the bum if the recipient doesn't have a hobby so a few punched circles seemed like a good idea.

The Happy Birthday is a stamp and the word DAD is done from a rub on alphabet sheet  along with the word celebrate .

just flying by

I've been seriously under the weather this week - headache - nausea - stomach pain - thought I would end up in A&E - a trip to my GP who diagnosed abdominal migraine - that's a new one to me - just to be sure blood tests are being done in case it's an allergy to something.

I made this card for the Christmas card throwdown but missed the entry time.

sunday morning stamping

If you saw my earlier posts using stamps from my local craft store- a  coffee pot with cup and saucer -  a mushroom - the two cards below are using more of theses inexpensive stamps.

This is another one of the unmounted red rubber stamps  - it cost just $2 but is only the bouquet -I added the stems - to be honest why would you have a stamp of just the flowers without stems - I'm not sure how you would use it - I cut an acetate jar shape and added a second shorter piece of acetate to make a water level.

This butterfly stamp cost only 50cents - not the best butterfly in the world so I decided to leave it plain and add blue papers and a bit of a square doily .

I probably won't buy anymore of these stamps - not sure I like the hand drawn effect and for me the outline are just a bit too thick .
