trying something different

The big toadstool measures 22cm across the top and the small one 13 cm. The pieces were fired , glazed and fired a second time- they should bring a splash of colour in the garden.

The one on the left is done on watercolour paper - the one on the right is on fabric

I did start some stitching but to be honest I will probably thow them away. This is a very interesting process which needs a little more thought on my part as to the composition of the piece .

The small community I live have a great hub where people can meet every day and do things to keep your brain and body active - from exercise and fitness- crosswords - sewing - mosaics  -knitting - spinning -cooking - coffee mornings , the list is endless.

We are in the middle of Winter here in Tasmania and over this 3 month period lots of extra classes have been arranged - all very hands on. I tried  the hand formed pottery and the cyanotype printing ,

Sadly I will be busy in July so will miss out on portraits - alcohol inks and mosaics for beginners. August have 3 more pottery classes but I think I will give them a miss- I just need to pop in and pick my last piece to be fired which is a small pot with a lid.
