a cage but no birds

I haven't added a greeting as I may use this  to send a letter to my aunt or maybe my MIL would like it for her birthday - I suppose I could always make another similar card - I say similar because I never manage to duplicate my cards -

pretty in pink

Instead of making cards I should find time to hone my photography skills - I really don't know how to get the best from pics and show the details- I used wink of stella on the flower and some pink gems for sparkle.
Creative Knockouts - challenge 362 sparkle and shine.

The Flower challenge -47 sparkle

a bit of sparkle

It's very hard to see in the piccy but I covered the vase twice  with Versamark and clear embossing powder to make it shine.Red glitter dots for a bit of sparkle -

I used watercolour pencils - a brand called Micador which I've had for years - I never add colour direct to the card but use a wet paintbrush to pick colour from the pencil tip.

a day at the beach

I have fond memories of going to the seaside as a child - donkey rides ,ice cream ,looking through rock pools with my granddad for tiny fish and crabs which I would put in a bucket only to put them back at the end of the day - I so wanted to take them home.I also remember getting stuck in quicksand and being given a real telling off. HAPPY DAYS

Double D challenge 'Let's go to the beach

I Love ProMarkers challenge 415 - inspired by the photo below. I added a tiny bit of red for interest.

baby toy card

Sometimes you have an idea in your head but getting it right on paper doesn't always work

.This super cute image was resized and printed out to form a childs pullalong toy.The card looks much better in natural light and I have tried to use the colours suggested by Beccy .I used watercolour pencils and then raised the images on sticky pads - Beccy's July challenge.

I always seem to take my pics at night when the light is really bad and I end up with lots of shadows.

It was so cold in my crafty space this morning the camera lens kept misting over ,this was the best pic I could manage with just a little misting at the bottom.

Allsorts challenge 580 I spy with the letter 'B' - colourwise I did ok with Blue ,Black and Brown hand painted paper - artistic licence means I can have a blue Bee.

flowers for you

I really will have to put my glasses on when crafting - this little bear was already to go on a card base - I picked a white one  and realized my bear was on grey speckle card . I quickly found a matching grey speckle card base so all was not lost - the camera however has decided to make the card look grey and the circle white- typical.Coloured with ProMarkers -the background patterned paper is from the inside of an envelope.

Allsorts challenge week 578- so cute

flowers for you

Passion for ProMarkers week 548 - use a die - I used two along with my usual AquaMarkers and Winsor and Newton grey selection - all given a finish with a wink of stella.

wonky hugs

I used the blue, red yellow and green from the AquMarkers and the lightest grey shade from the Winsor and Newton Neutrals. When I mixed the blue and red I was hoping for a violet colour ,instead I have this red wine tone which is ok as I had this dark pink paper which matched.

The image is from Stampavie.I used the 'hugs' from Ranger Letterit which seems a popular stamp set with a lot of you but I'm not so happy with it - maybe I'm just rubbish at stamping.

Keeping it simple

when I looked through my pink/red scraps I was amazed at just how many useless bits of paper I have kept.I keep my scraps in colours so it should be easy to go through each colour and throw away all the really tiny bits (maybe).

I embossed a white panel to put them on  and gave them all fish tails.

A sentiment from Letterit clear stamps and a few pink gems.

GRAB OUR BADGE!
Double D challenges - Use your scraps

happy birthday

Passion for ProMarkers - week 546 - Blue and Yellow- I love my Aqua markers ,the colours are very deep which means you can add  of water and not lose the colour. I used Cerulean Blue and Cadmium Lemon which is very sharpe and almost green.

that someone special

The Flower Challenge - 45 Navy +one other colour - I went with two shades of lemon and used three of the  dies to assemble the flowers - I' not sure about this colour combo and maybe a lime green would have been a good contrast with the navy.

Birthday Wishes

sorry about the photo angle it was very late when I took this pic and there were just too many shadows.

I used Alizarin Crimson from the Aqua Markers and from ProMarkers Neutral set which are all shades of grey I used the first 3 colours. I used foam to raise the whole panel - image from LOTV.

stamping mad

This book has sewing projects from a tiny needle case to table runner or adding some cross stitch to a shirt or patchwork cushion as you can see below.
I have had this book for many years and to keep it clean I covered the outside with brown paper. When I saw the challenge it was easy to get out the sewing stamp set which was came with a magazine some years ago.

I added the tiniest amount of shading and then stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black adding just a square of detail on the front.

.I then went completely mad and sponged and stamped like crazy on the back.

Incy Wincy Design challenge to June 13th - Anything but a card.

Now I'm in the zone I've just eyed up a cook book which I can decorate with a pear stencil ,a tiny carrot stencil , I'm sure I have an apple as well , just need to look through my stash.

pink and green on a very rainy day

the weather here in Tasmania is very rainy, dull and dark - it is the first day of winter - the lights are casting a shadow but there is nothing I can do.

Crafty Hazelnut's  Patterned Paper June challenge -As always anything goes

It's  hard to see but I did add some pearlescent paint to the base of both flowers and the tiny bud , the green is also pearlescent which you just about see on the flower base at the top of the card

yummy strawberries

I used Cerulean Blue,Alizarin Crimson , Cobalt Green and Cadmium Lemon from the AquaMarkers.

This is a first for me making a smooshy dark background - I would normally leave it white.

Passion for ProMarkers- week 544 - it's a Summer thing - what says Summer more than Strawberries.
A tradition at Wimbledon tennis for many years - I will miss watching the tennis this year.

paper weaving in browns ,black and white

not something I would usually do - I've seen lots of cards using up scraps of paper and they almost always leave uneven paper scraps at the edges which looks fine - my clean and simple mind has to have straight edges so once all the weaving was done I used a square die cut . I only used 5 different papers I think it should probably be at least 6 or 7.

hello little bird

we crafters never throw stuff away and I am no different , I have a stash of very old peel off stickers (some have been sitting there unused for over 15 years) , these little birds are not that old ,I used the bird and the leaf shapes to make a flower. Peel off alpha letters coloured a darker blue ,paper is Lawn Fawn.

UnstampaBelles challenge - wind /wings and blue/white.
Sue you have done a great job since taking over from Wendy - I really should join in more often.

keeping it simple

Apologies for the shadow in the right hand corner.

I made this card for my Aunt who celebrates her 90th birthday next week - whilst I am in relative safety here in Tasmania my Aunt lives in the UK with her son and his wife - she assures me they are doing everything to keep her away from any germs. I did go back and add 90th to sentiment inside before I posted it.

Stamping Sensations - Say it with flowers -

This stamp set is from Fiskars called Flora - I used pearlescent paints from Semco and then outlined the flowers with a pale grey marker pen. I have no idea where the sentiment came from as it was part of a prize years ago and was unmounted . I put foam on the back of the black/white check to lift the whole thing.

hello sweet kitty

I used the Winsor & Newton grey markers for the kitty and even though they have finer tip at one end it's not really fine enough to do details like the kitty stripes. The wings are done with AquaMarkers. This sweet kitty is from ADFD.
