Biker Dad or Dude

                                


Mention the male word and we all run for the hills ,why is it so difficult to make a suitable male card. This one is for the biker DAD but just change the sentiment and it's perfect for any  guy who loves his bike.I punched lots of squares in grey and black stuck them to a piece of white card ,added a few silver brads and a splash of red - faux and real  stitching - a sentiment and I'm done.

It's your birthday

This card was made using one piece of patterned paper cut to the same size as the card stock . In effect you cut two frames from the paper leaving a centre rectangle .The two middle sections are matted onto pink card and re positioned to match up the paper .

What can you make in 20 minutes or less . Cardstock is forest green ,paper is 'vintage christmas' from HOTP .The large tag/embellishement is from 'My Minds Eye' , I added a little stitching across the top and bottom of the sentiment .

Readers Gallery

I said in my last post that this little birdie stamp was my favourite and here it is again in Spring colours ,the team at the magazine thought it was worthy of a place in the readers gallery.
I used this stamp for most of my Christmas cards ,coloured blue and grey with lots of glitter ,you can see them here . Later this week I have another batch of cards almost ready to submit to the magazine.

Autumn is here

The theme at Papercraft Star is Birds -challenge 137 -  I've used this stamp so many times in so many colour combinations , it will always be my favourite stamp.

It was good to get back in the craft room this week and make a few cards ,after the disaster of my computer crashing and losing everything stored on it I was a bit crabby and couldn't see past what I had lost.

I've had this cute mouse stamp for more years than I can remember . Coloured with ProMarkers and glitter on top of the cake.

On Saturday my computer crashed so it's been in   the ER all week , the doctors have done a good a job .The patient has survived but only just,some memory loss has occurred and lots of new bits have been installed.I will get my computer back on Friday but won't be up and running for a couple of days.

Update ; well I'm back up and running but I have lost all my music ,games and craft stuff . The music and games and I can live without but the craft stuff is another matter, all the lovely images I have bought and the freebies given so generously have all gone . My New Year resolution not to buy any new craft stuff still stands so I guess for the next 9 months I will be limping along.

The heart stamp is from Inque Boutique ,I bought it in November but haven't used it before. It's very dull here today so the camera hasn't picked up the glitter on the flower centers or the red dots.The colours all look a bit flat the card is so much prettier.

Oh Bunny

If anyone has any tea and sympathy to spare you could send it down my way .Last week I had an unpleasant pain down the left side of my back ,I thought maybe a pulled muscle and went off to see the physio .After a few days a nasty rash appeared which was shingles, so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself .

I don't usually make cards for little girlies ,thought it was time I tried. Not too shabby,I quite like it . I't's actually raining today ,just a little but the sky is heavy and dark so I took the photo in the bathroom ,the lights in there are very very bright.

Christmas Candle

I must have taken about 20 pictures of this flippin card .The first ones didn't show up the glitter so I added more glitter to the candle, berries and the flowers centers .The second lots of pics weren't much better so I turned on my desk lamp and the ceiling light and still the glitter isn't all that visible.I used an aperture card which I then covered with the red and cut out the centre oval.The image is coloured with Promarkers.I was tempted to look for in my stash for some corner stickers but decided it was better plain.

Christmas in January ? Oh NO

I'm a bit disappointed with the photo as the buttons are much redder than shown. Who says the camera never lies.The paper and reindeer stamp were magazine freebies ,sentiment stamp from 'Lucys'.

still addINKtive  - challenge 2 -layout and colour scheme above. I love the dark chocolate against the turquoise. I had 3 attempts at cutting out the butterfly ,I kept chopping his head off,I've used sticky dots to raise it.

I've done a bit of recycling on this card .When you open a box of chocolates there is always a piece of squishy thick paper on the top ,if you split the layers apart this background paper is the end result . The large die cut heart was covered in lace and a few random pearls sewn to it .Smaller hearts and a stick on sentiment complete my simple card.

A very happy Sunday to you all out there in blogland - My first card for 2013 ,I was begining to think it might not happen .I look at all the challenges available and all the stuff in my craft cupboards and I just get  overwhelmed ,which challenge,what paper,what colour.All this choice is the reason my NY resolution was not to buy any craft stuff for 2013.At the end of the year I hope I can see the light at the end of the tunnel , I will have used all stuff bought previously and never opened .

My fav card from 2012 and an update.

Good morning from a hot and sticky Tasmania ,the mercury is set to rise high today . I've been out in the garden and filled the bird baths and the pond so all creatures great and small can have a drink or a bath.

I hope you all had a lovely time over the festive season .I didn't make any cards but I did read a few books .I particularly enjoyed
The Betrayal by Y.A. Erskine -contains some strong language but an insight into the Tasmanian Police force.
Evil on the Wind by Diney Costeloe  - a fictional book giving a brief ( but I'm sure accurate ) glimpse into life for Jews in the second world war.
When God was a Rabbit by Sarah Winman - a strange story about family and friends which I had to read right to the end.
If you want something lighthearted ,funny and easy to read then Carole Matthews may be for you.I saw the new James bond film Skyfall ,Daniel Craig just doesn't do anything for me .Since the arrival of Craig all the silly gadgets have gone along with amusing  little one liners we associate with the Bonds of old.

New Years Resolutions -
Spend less time reading other peoples blogs and more time crafting. Last year was my lowest ever with just 95 posts.
Buy NO new craft stuff for  one year -I can do it and so can you ,we all have way too much stuff .
