Use your scraps

Another scrap card for challenge 27 at UnstampaBelles . These scraps are 2.5 inches long and the width of my ruler which is 3cm . I've used stickers for the sentiment .

UnstampaBelles- challenge - 27 - Use up your scraps and old stuff. The Quickmate alpha sheets are over 10 years old ,I have them in 4 different fonts . A few scraps of black and white card were perfect , I don't have a scallop punch so I drew around a chipboard shape for the body and free cut the ears,face and white topknots . Embellishments and paper from my stash .Last month  my card was chosen as Design Team Favourite so in October I will be guest designer .

A bit chic in purple

I've been using the same camera to take my pics for quite a few years now and never bothered to read the instruction manual  , I try not to touch any of the buttons. For some reason the first few pics were a bit blurred and I wondered if I had  accidentally pressed the settings button . As you can see from the above I tried a few settings with very different results .
The top picture has picked up way too much sparkle ,the grey paper has barely a shimmer . The colour of the dress in the top picture is exactly right but the dark center of the flower should be the same shade as the purple washi tape frame.
The bottom picture has the right grey background and whilst the washi tape and the flower center match the dress is not the right colour purple.

A simple happy birthday

I used sequin waste as a stencil to make my own background paper.

This card was created using a sheet from Nancy Watt. Once I had made my backing paper it was an easy task to pick out a few elements and stick them down .

UnstampaBelles -  challenge 52 -  Birthday Cake - Now I know I don't have a birthday cake on my card but then neither have any of the design team except Merry so I'm guessing it's just a birthday theme .

I made one of these easel cards last week and I quite like how it looks so here's another one .The peel off flowers and butterfly were stuck on thin card and attached with sticky dots .The silver sentiment sticker was coloured black .

A little Christmas cheer

 It's almost a month since my last post , I wish I could tell you I've been on a relaxing holiday but sadly I've    just been very busy in the house and garden .

 I did manage to make Christmas ornaments  whilst watching TV .

White on White

I've done a bit of recycling on this card .When you open a box of chocolates there is always a piece of squishy thick paper on the top ,if you split the layers apart this background paper is the end result . The large die cut heart was covered in lace and a few random pearls sewn to it .Smaller hearts and a stick on sentiment complete my simple card.

All ready for 2013

All ready for 2013 with this easel calendar -I wish ,at least I will know what the date is .The fashion plate is from graphic45 'fashionista collection' ' haute couture' . Vintage is a rub on from Quickmate and aptly called vintage .

Allsorts challenge blog - week 169 - It's a gift - I think a desk calendar is an easy gift to make and can be personalized for your best buddy -male or female.

Orange - you either love it or hate it.

Ask anyone their least favourite colour and it's probably Orange.It's not a Spring /Summer colour ,it's too bright for Autumn and it never makes an appearance in Winter. Not a scrap of Orange in my wardrobe and I don't recall seeing any shop windows ablaze with this strong colour. Enough ranting ,my little card using Orange .

Christmas in June

My last two posts were scheduled as I've been on holiday in New Zealand , Steve took 3 weeks off work and we went to visit friends as part of our trip. If you've never been to NZ I can highly recommend it ,great accommodation at very reasonable prices ,lots of good food and the friendliest people you could ever wish to meet.

My card today is made up of four elements - ribbons for the tree ,paper for the trunk ,the presents and sentiment are rub-ons and the boarder is a sticky strip.

The Crafty Pad - challenge 173 - Ribbon - When I run out of cards at Christmas and need to make a quick one then a tree aperture card with ribbon is always effective.

Austin Powers or Herbie

I was such a happy bunny this morning ,we had two hours of rain, NO gardening ,NO laundry which means I can craft.It is short lived and the sun is now blazing down.

Anyway ,this little card which is all cut by hand is for challenge 10 at Unstampables.Use the colours of your countries flag and not use a square or rectangular card shape.

Rainbow Lady's challenge 201 - St George's Day /Patriotic/British.I was patriotic to Britain for 42 years before I moved to Saudi Arabia and then to Australia. I'm sure this won't be my last place to call home ,I can see another move in the future,perhaps a retirement home Europe .I can only hope.

I'm not really into using strong colours like blue and red together ,HOWEVER this paper (which came from Merry at Unstampables )is perfect .I couldn't decide if the numberplate should be LOVEBUG from HERBIE or to go with the psychedelic car and AUSTIN POWERS.The sentiments are stickers.

bird house

I've seen a couple of the book birdhouses and thought it might be fun to make one. I actually made two last week whilst watching TV. I don't seem to have the time during the day to do any crafting .

I didn't join this one together but left it flat and stuck it to a length of wood. I'm not sure how much decoration to put on it. Some of the pages have flowers or buttons stuck inside. I quite like the clock face and the butterflies,not so sure about the blue Easter chicks.

This morning saw the worst frost this Winter ,luckily the bright blue skies and sun have made this another beautiful day.My laundry is outside drying so I'm going to sit on the deck with a cup of Earl Grey tea,my fav.Enjoy your weekend ,I suppose we will be house hunting yet again .I'm always surprised at how little effort is made by some vendors ,(the words clean and uncluttered seem to be absent from their vocabulary).
