Blue blooms

Artistic licence is a wonderful thing which means I can have blue flowers . I used my ProMarkers which I love plus a tombow grey pen for the shadowing - I did go a bit over the top with that. An old but well used and loved Altenew stamp.

Mr & Mrs

The Butterfly challenge 185 - add some flowers along with your butterfly.

I wanted to bring some blue into this card to tie in with the blue heart - I'm not convinced the dark blue pearls or the dark banner work but still a pretty card.

Christmas in July

This was the first pic I took last night and the top of the ornament looks red which it isn't. I had to take another snap this morning which shows a silver top/.

So here is my card this morning -      a simple bauble- some silver card- embossed corners using a folder which came with a magazine, just a hint of pink.

Summer is just around the corner

I also used Kaisercraft Woodgrain embossing folder as well as the Roses above.

Summer is not just around the corner - wishful thinking on my part as we are in the middle of winter but I keep going back to the butterflies, they make me happy . I kept changing my mind with this card - the vellum was on then off  , the square behind the butterfly was white/ then white and embossed -it just seemed too bright so I went with the soft blue and embossed.

Be happy

"Be Happy " I was happy making this sweet little card until it came to stamping the sentiment- I wanted it to be red but looking through my stamp pads I didn't have one that was a real deep red .

Lets Create and Craft -  challenge 197 -add flowers .

I used a paper template for the shape which I think came from a magazine freebie as I don't have a die.The sentiment with matching die is from Altenew and is quite old.

I  didn't want the leaves to be a solid green , I thought it might make the card too heavy so I stamped the white dies with  some text but that didn't show up so well against the white which is why I then edged the leaves with green. Does that make any sense - who knows.

Have a good and crafty day.

In the pink with a hint of green

I used this embossing fold to create the dark pink panel .  I gave it a very gentle rub with an emery board to reveal some of the white core of the card.

The Butterfly challenge - 184 - Anything goes -  just add a butterfly.

Our old house is beginning to look smarter . It's a bit noisy at the moment as we are having a new roof , no more leaks - yay. Any other work which we have to do and there is a lot will be down to us. it's Winter here in Tasmania but as soon as the weather improves I will be up the ladder painting the exterior.

Lemons for lemonade

My white strips are a bit uneven but I don't think it came out too bad. I've seen other people do this pattern with thin washi tape and then inked over the top to reveal the white when the washi tape is removed. That seems like a lot of ink to me so I used white card on a green card base.

Allsorts challenge 735 - Summertime - What could be more refreshing than cool lemonade.

My personal favourite is a good non alcoholic ginger beer with slices or wedges of fresh lime .

Christmas kisses

A slightly vintage feel with brown mats and layers stamped with brown ink -soft colours are lovely but not so good to take  a pic of.

ABC Christmas challenge L & M - layers or mice -

I have some cute christmas mice so maybe I will have another stab at this challenge.

Birthday butterfly

All these colours made me think of Summer which is  a long way off here in Tasmania. We usually have lots of frost with blue sky and sunshine in the Winter but so far we have had very heavy rain and strong winds. I am not a happy bunny.

Graphic45

these were both made by cutting out sections from a 12x12 sheet called Time to Flourish from Graphic45. I love the top card with the added stamp image at the bottom but not so much the second card. The flower and some of the leaves are raised on sticky pads.

Happy thoughts

I am loving the tulip stamps and dies from the magazine die-cutting essentials.

Allsorts challenge week 733 - AG with the option of bees, butterflies or blooms.

White die cut tulips with patterned paper behind

- sentiment is a stamp and matching die from Altenew.

die cut roses and a bad buy

these pearl drops say the colour is snow and it was just what I wanted to bring a little light into this very flat colour. As you can see below perfect little white pearls.

As the drops dried they became almost invisible - not so much snow as ice.

I added some grey inks to  a piece of white card, die cut the roses and the sentiment. The stencil colour was a bit darker than expected - I may line up the stencil again and go over it with white.

Scrappy birthday

The dark paper is the reverse of the leaf paper - a mix n match of dies -  a quick make for a male card.

An early taste of Christmas

Lots of papers - I had a second sheet of the bauble paper so was able to cut out the blue bauble and raise it up.No stamps so I used stickers - 'Believe ' and on the inside  'the magic on Christmas'.

Lots of papers and stickers to make some more cards,

Christmas Craft Creations - may challenge No Stamps. . lucky I had these lovely stickers .

Flower power

This tulip stamp was from the Die-cutting essentials magazine. I don't buy many magazines but this issue had a lot on offer, you can stamp  just the outlines of the tulips and colour them or you can use the solid tulip sections and stamp the colour. Two tulip dies and 3 die words also came in the pack.

Blooms

I've had this background paper for a long time and  love the colours but what to do with it. The flowers are quite small and came with a die but it left a white border which I really don't like so out came the scissors.  I should have put a pale colour for the background inside the shaker , I tried to lift off but it was stuck really well .I used Promarkers to colour the flowers.

Triple B - Birds, Butterflies and Blooms. They also have a mood board for inspiration.

Cherry Time

A little book binding card with a huge cherry. We have some wonderful cherry farms right on our doorstep here in Tasmania but the picking season is very short . I like to throw a few in a pan and warm them a little until they are soft and juicy, I use them with a chocolate muffin and jello to make a black forest trifle base before adding custard and cream.

Double D challenge Fresh picked -anything but flowers.

I remembered I had this cherry paper so I just had  to find papers that were a good colour match. Cherry and leaf raised up on sticky pads.

swirls,flowers and flourishes

I seem to have a bit of everything here, a stencil , embossing ,inking, die cutting and a little stamped sentiment. I made this card for my Aunt who had her 93rd birthday at the beginning of May.

Allsorts challenge week 727 - flowers - I have no idea what sort of flowers these are. Echinacea perhaps.

Stencil Fun - A stencil  + flowers - this is such a pretty stencil with its flourishes and swirls

a little layered card

A mix n match of 3 papers , a flower card and a postage stamp. A  pretty ribbon and it's done. I often struggle with layers but this one came together so easily. The camera sadly does not pick up all the detail in the light background paper as it is a gold flock and very pretty. I should probably try and take a better pic as the cream card edge is not showing on the right hand side.

Let's Craft and Create-  challenge 195 - ribbon, twine ,lace.

After 5 months of waiting we finally have our bathroom and laundry room finished . Because it's such an old house all the pipes were replaced to the kitchen as well. It took for longer than we expected and not fantastic if I am honest .Having six different trades to do the job is crazy , I think the builder could have done a better job in getting them organised. The best I can say is 'its clean and tidy '.

Birds - one plain - one fancy

There is a bird cage hiding underneath all the bits and pieces. Not really a style I do very well but I keep trying. Lots of soft greys and white with a little bit of background stamping.

Soft oranges ,browns and neutrals for my second  little bird raised up on foam pads.

The builders are busy again insulating the walls ,the electrician has been and done the first fix for wiring. If all goes to plan the tiles may be here on Friday.
