Christmas Cheer

I've taken 2 pics to try and show the colour on this card - it's a bit gloomy here today but I am not complaining - it's actually raining -we have had a very very dry Winter here and this is the first Spring rain that's lasted for more than 5 minutes - I'm loving the sound of rain.

Cardinal Christmas

I've been running around like a mad thing this week - too many jobs and not enough time - my husband says I should chill out more- the result of all this was a horrible migraine yesterday ,this happens whenever I overdo it -  a bit like a safety valve-
I made this card earlier in the week- I'm not sure if the traditional image works with the modern paper as a background but it's always worth a try-

Beccy's Place - day 16 -Watercolours - I used Micador watercolour pencils -

Gorjuss- I'm not so sure about that

I made this card yesterday using a decoupage kit from Gorjuss- the colours on the kit are pretty dark - it was difficult to pick a paper that didn't look too light - the lace panel down the side was very white so I rubbed over a little brown ink to try and tone it down- not very happy with the end result- not sure if I would buy anymore of these kits.

Sparkle and Shine

Looking at this card I think I should have added some more brown to match the stripe down the middle of the paper.

 This week I was supposed to be  making cards everyday for  the November challenge over at Beccy's Place- sadly this is my only creation.The snowflake is part of a set from Beccy's which I printed out twice in different sizes.

After the fun of making cat cards at the end of October, last week was back to jobs in the house- since we moved in I have had a " jobs to do list "  and like most people I never seem to get to those jobs right at the bottom of the list  -  I decided the best option would be to do a job from the top of the list followed by one from the bottom of list . This seems to be working OK  - last week I finished painting one of the spare bedrooms- this was a job from the bottom of the list- (can you believe it was all bright yellow -walls- ceiling and even yellow curtains)  - I've gone with good old crisp ,clean white - a blank canvas to add a few pictures-
I'm not good with technology but I can just about manage to scan and resize images so the above are a couple things to go on the walls - I used watercolour pencils. I should have taken out the glass to do the photos -  you can see my reflection in the glass.

On Tuesday I started  painting in the master bedroom and that's finished now as well - I put the newly cleaned curtains up yesterday and all that's left is to buy new lampshades for the bedside lights- a job from the top of the list.

 Next up is the hallway -another job from the bottom of the list and next the top job on the list - the lounge room- you can see how easy it is to work from both ends of the list and get everything done.

CATS ONLY CHALLENGE

If you have visited my blog over the past few days my cards have been cat inspired to celebrate National Cat Day which was October 29th. The challenge was hosted by Janis and over 100 hundred entries were submitted- I think it's fair to say we all enjoyed ourselves -

Christmas Kitty

The Cat Lovers hop was such a sweet challenge I just had to make a second card and as we are fast (very fast ) approaching the festive season I thought it was a good idea to make a holiday card.

Her  Peaceful Garden - Cat Lovers Hop - I used lots of glitter on the hat and gold thread to sew a few different stitches. A second star was cut out and raised on a sticky dot.

Kitty cat

For more than 20 years cats played a big part in my life - I can think of nothing better than to snuggle up with a big ball of fur. Sadly since we came to Australia our home has been pet free - we are constantly told to keep cats indoors as they kill wildlife - cats are great explorers , I  wouldn't want to keep my cat confined so I'm on the lookout for an agoraphobic cat LOL.
The stamp is from DEEP RED and called FANCY CAT

The flower stamp is from Abi's Crafts -the flower edge is a Martha Stewart punch  - the heart I cut by hand and covered with Washi tape .All the other bits are just from my stash.

Scrapbook Boutique - October challenge

Tip Toe through the tulips

Every year the tulip farm in Wynyard is open to the public for about six weeks - we arrived very early in the morning when the mist was still low .Row upon row with thousands of tulips -some small and neat others with large  loose petals . I forgot my camera so these are just from the phone - they also have fields of beautiful purple iris.The day soon warmed up and by 10am I was glad I put on lots of sun screen.
We stayed overnight at The Waterfront Wynyard Motel which has super comfy rooms and a great buffet breakfast .

Love is in the air

Love is in the air with my balloon shaped card for our challenge 106 at Let's Craft and Create -our theme this month is ribbon or twine - this shape is from The Cutting Cafe - pop over to the other team members and see what they have made using the cutting files- you don't need a fancy machine I cut mine out by hand. Cutting Cafe also have lots of sentiments to match the cutting files.

For me this sentiment is wrong in so many ways - too many strawberries and cream is surely a bad thing- on the other hand I could never use this statement about a plate of broccoli or cauliflower.

Another card for the charity box

I'm still having a struggle with the new camera - I really don't take enough pictures to sort out the settings.The reindeer stamp is a magazine freebie.I managed to waste quite a bit of the black and white ribbon -lesson learned put the sticky tape on the card then lay the ribbon over it.

I resized the flowers - printed and coloured  then layered - the sentiment is from Stampin Up , a prize win from a long time ago.

Just for You

When I made my last card for Saturdays post I realized  just how many buttons and rolls of ribbon I had - way too many- I'm not sure how long it will take to use all this stuff but this is a start - at least with the ribbon.

Birthday Bird

The shiny blue ribbon was a real problem to stick down and every time I picked up the card the buttons fell off - if you have any good solutions please let me know .

Challenge 105 at Lets Craft and Create starts today- Dies or Punches- I used a circle punch -  a corner punch to round the edges of the white square and for the bottom scallop effect I used an American Crafts Knock Out punch.
