Beauty everywhere

It doesn't matter how many stamps or digis I buy this little stamp from Stampavie comes out time after time . I will never grow tired of this cute birdie on his branch.Today I've used Promarkers to colour this image and added a sprinkle of glitter in the center of each flower.

New Arrival

a quick hello to my new followers - you are very welcome - thanks for popping by  and leaving your comments. The elephant stamp is Woodware and the sentiment is one of a set of four which was given to me so sadly I don't know where it came from .

Scrapbook Boutique -  They have  a yummy cupcake for inspiration - colours are pinks -white and biscuit.

In the Pink - challenge 69 - faux or real stitching - I used my dress makers wheel to score all the holes and then used a soft pencil to join them up.

keeping it simple

Sometimes it's good to make a card and not have to colour some cutesy girl or boy - I must admit I prefer flowers and animals to people. I love this patchwork paper and didn't want to go overboard.I added the white pen to the flowers and lots of gems to the center.

Simply Papercraft - challenge 5 - Anything goes.

Cupcake with legs - whatever next

Ppinkydolls are the sponsors for challenge 40 over at Creative Craft Cottage - our theme is "add a bow" .
These images are quirky and cute so I kept everything simple - the flowers are a scalloped circle and a flower made with a stamp from paper smoochies.

On your bike little miss

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Craft Cottage and we would like to see some glitter . Are sponsor is All Dressed Up -

This was a real kitchen sink job - I used Copics for the flesh and ground area, felt tip pens in pink, green.yellow and brown , a black coloured pencil for the tyres ,a silver metallic pen for the bicycle frame - the basket had a coat of Glossy Accents to make it shine. The used a thin double sided tape to border the card then added lots of glitter -the little butterflies are also covered in glitter - the border at the bottom is washi tape - a few layered flowers and some pearls . It took me ages to decided on all the bits but the end result is quite restrained LOL ..

Just for you

A very happy Thursday out there and a special hello to my new followers - you are very welcome - I don't make anything fancy - I make lots of mistakes and your comments good or bad are always appreciated.
The green flower panel is raised on sticky dots and I've used water colour pencils for this card - I have to be honest and say I hate the chipboard button - it will have to go .

I'm back with a slight change - I used the green flower above added some white and  lilac ink then stuck on little gems -I then went around the edged and lifted up alternate petals - I'm much happier with this but if you have any better ideas let me know.

A heads up to crafty Tasmanians

A few weeks ago I dragged my DH to see the murals on show in Sheffield and ( being the lovely man he is ) he asked if I would like to go on to Spreyton and look in Bevs Cross Crafts ( I've never been before ) . This store is huge - they have an amazing range of craft goodies - more dies than you could ever imagine ( I may have to give in and buy a Big Shot or Cuttlebug ).

There was so much on offer I didn't actually buy anything - sad but true- Anyway the point of this post is that Bevs Cross Crafts are now online - you can purchase to hearts content - so happy shopping.

Stitched leaves

I stitched this panel over a year ago and then didn't use it as it looked a bit drab on the cream background-    it has been sitting on my desk in a whole heap of stuff to be put away - I have to admit I am an untidy crafter - I looked at it yesterday afternoon and decided if I had an orange flower in my stash I would put a card together . It's quite cheery now and better than I expected .

For my dear Auntie

My auntie is the only close relative I have left -  now in her mid eighties she tells me every year that the number of cards she receives is getting smaller as friends and relatives pass away . Each year when I make her birthday card I keep my fingers crossed that it wont be the last one I send to her.  I hope we will both be around to celebrate her 100th birthday.

The view from my craft room window

I love this time of year ,the earth is still warm from the summer sun and the days have crisp mornings which turn into beautiful sunny days with the bluest of skies . The four pictures above shown my view as I craft. This room has windows on too sides and when I look out from the windows behind me the cows graze happily in the warmth of the sun.

Shaker Card

We have a new challenge at Creative Craft Cottage - Something Yummy  to Eat or Drink - Our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe - the winner can choose 3 sets -  I must admit I was bit a worried as I'm not very good at cutting out- the templates are great to use - keeping the fold of my card stock as the top I cut out the card and covered the front with pink paper - then cut out just the frame which I backed with a piece of acetate  -

these sets have lots options -I could have filled my jar with jelly beans- buttons - hearts or the strawberries - there are lots of sentiments to add to your card - once my strawberries were cut out and coloured I stuck them to the pink paper and then added the frame dropping lots of green and red sequins . I picked out the top decoration I liked and the sentiment -
We would love you to join in our challenge but please make sure you follow our blog - the ladies on the team have made some amazing cards so check them out.

New challenge at Creative Craft Cottage

This is my card using an image from  Lemon Shortbread - I fussy cut her out and then used a die cut sheet from a pack which had 18 die cut designs ( passtime crafts ) . To bring the whole thing together I punched out some green circles to add to the center of the purple spots.

My card using an image from Karleigh Sue - My die cuts are the scalloped edging and the word party - I paper pieced her dress and added glossy accents to her shoes and clutch bag .

Creative Craft Cottage- challenge 37 - Use a die cut - For this challenge we have two sponsors - Karleigh Sue  and  Lemon Shortbread . Pop over to our blog and see what the other DT members have created. We would love you to play along but please make sure you  follow our blog. Have fun.

3 for Thursday

This was supposed to be a quick card with a tag - I stamped the sentiment on the pocket at least six times and I wasn't really happy with any of the results . The white embossing powder is not really white enough.

a couple of DAD cards - hate making cards for males but it has to be done.

Quite like the flip flop cards - so effective

Have a safe and happy easter holidays.

Hats - beautiful hats

This is the first time in ages I've made a card for an actual challenge - I have spent days- too many days sorting through my craft supplies- not just card making stuff  but knitting ,cross stitch , dressmaking - and actually throwing things away. I still have  3 boxes to tackle but I can see the light.

Southern Girls -  challenge 107 - Punching above your weight - I used 3 punches - flowers and butterfly.
Scrapbook Boutique- March challenge - I was inspired by the hats on the cupcakes when making this card.

Happy Saturday - we have a new challenge

We have a new challenge over at Creative Craft Cottage( no 36 )  sponsored by The East Wind who are offering 3 digis of your choice . Our challenge is all about 3 of a kind .I've only added buttons which seem to be the easy option but The East Wind have the most beautiful images and I really didn't want the focus of my card to be anywhere else.

I printed out the flowers twice and gave them a good covering of glossy accents. As always the skin is coloured with Copics and water colour pencils for the rest.
Come and join in the fun to win some fab images but please make sure you follow our blog .

Have a great weekend.

Brown 'n' Blue

The brown card I used is exactly the same chocolate colour as below but the camera flash has made it seem much lighter.

Sorry about the shadows but this pic is only to show the front decoration on the card of hearts and butterflies.

It's all very well making cards with fancy folds but when the light is not very good you end up with lots of shadows. The reverse of the flip flop card has a blue background with a white panel saying 'Happy Anniversary ' - it also has the hearts and butterflies as embellishments .

It really is very gloomy and showery today but I'm not going to complain - we get so little rain here in my part of Tasmania - it's a joy to listen to the gentle pitter patter outside.

A flying Happy Birthday

Welcome to our new challenge at Creative Craft Cottage - challenge 35 - Not quite straight - Pop over to  see what the other teams members have made- If  you would like to join in please make sure you follow our blog.

Our sponsor is Rick St. Dennis who has a very eclectic mix of designs . I don't often make cards for little boys but loved this image so much I couldn't resist. Once my image was re sized I added the sentiments then used a black pen for the dots. I used water colours to paint him - fancy craft scissors for the blue border - and a star to finish off .

Beccy's Place New Release for March

It's hard to believe my 6 month stint at Beccy's Place is over - it has been a pleasure to get new sets every month to work with. The up side is that I can join in the challenges again.

A beautiful Easter set that has some lovely sentiments.

This Wish You Well set is my favourite- how cute is the bunny.

Girly sleepovers- perfect invite material.

You can see the full sets for all 3 new releases by going over to Beccy's Place. I have used a mixture of copics for the fleshy bits and water colour pencils for everything else, flowers and a little ribbon and some brads to finish off.

flower power

I've had this image from Beccy's Place for a while  - I had a bit of spare time so tried it out- the background grey spot I stamped myself with a piece of sequin waste and a sponge.

Just leave me alone - talk to the hat !!

We have a new challenge at Creative Craft Cottage -Challenge 34 - Add a sentiment - our sponsor is Karleigh Sue - I chose this sweet image called ' Sunday Afternoon '  -

I thought she looked pretty ticked off with everybody -she was coloured with Copics for the fleshy bits and I used water colour pencils for the rest.I cropped the flower from her hat ,re sized it and layered to use in the top corner. Lots of glossy accents on both flowers.

I'm starting early this year

I'm making an early start on my cards this year so that I will have some spare to send to 'Caring Hearts '. The Caring Hearts card drive collects Christmas cards to send out to nursing and care home residents ..Spreading a little festive cheer to our oldies.

Incy Wincy -  White on White with a touch of colour.
Christmas Cards All Year Round - Red and White theme.
Crafty Creations - challenge 283 - White + One

I've made lots of these in the past but usually with pretty patterned paper - must admit I quite the simple touch. If you need any dimensions the strips are 1cm at the wide end and approx 1/2cm at the narrow end - the longest strip at the bottom is 5cm -I then went down by a 1/2cm each time as the strips got shorter.

Happy Friday

Just a quick post to wish you well for the weekend - if you stuck indoors because of bad weather ( and I know some of you are) dig out an old jigsaw or game ,better still invent a new game with the family - bake with the children , It's a scorcher here in my little part of Tasmania -sitting on the deck with some iced tea and a book would be lovely but I'm guessing that won't happen.

This week I've been playing with a new set of images from Beccy's Place - they are not available until March and this is sadly the end of my 6 months being on the design team . Some clever person said " as one door close another opens " and that has been true for me this week . Eileen from Creative Craft Cottage contacted me on Monday and asked if I would like to be a part of their design team - (be rude not to ) - so here I am putting the thinking cap back on.

have a great weekend and watch for that door , it can smack you in the face lol.

Beccy's Place 'Valentine Set '

I only had time to complete one card using this cute bear but I know he will be on more of my cards - if you add your own sentiments he can be used  to send birthday love , mothers day or  a wedding anniversary. This is my last release set for February from Beccy's Place .

Beccy's Place ' Wild About You ' Set

This was such a cute set to work with -I have 2 more images coloured that didn't make the deadline.

For the panda card I put  together 2 of the sentiments which I think works ok. If animals are not your thing then print out the hearts and use them as the focal point . Pop over to Beccy's Place to see all her great images.

New release set from Beccy's Place

My take on the new release set from Beccy's Place -  the Iris is such a pretty flower and with a little artistic licence you can make them any colour you like or you can print them out already coloured. You can buy the whole set as shown above or just an individual image -the choice is yours.
There is a call out for DT members at the moment .
