Lots of Candy

Still no cardmaking

Well,I've now made the move from Tasmania to South Australia which was a terrible wrench as Tasmania is a beautiful place to live.Lots of green ,lush countryside and a lovely climate.We had to leave cos there were no jobs for my OH, so sad.On my last morning I went along to the monthly craft demo at Regal Craft Cards and bought a few bits n bobs. We had a ferry crossing (cos we brought two cars with us ) and a long drive through Victoria.Along the way I have stopped at various shops and bought a few more items. I might just have enough to make a few very basic cards.

Withdrawal symptoms

This is driving me mad.Not being able to make any cards is like a smoker not having a cigarette.My craft room has been packed up for a week now and we don't leave until Thursday the 23rd.By the time we reach our final destination which is unknown at the moment and found a place to live I will be tearing my hair out.I've got about a dozen new digi downloads to play with when I get settled.All my Christmas cards are made and a few birthdays cards as well just in case I don't see my stuff my a few months. The move doesn't stop me shopping though and every time I go out I buy a little something to add to my already enormous craft supplies,only small things to put in an empty shoe box.A couple of ink pads, a few buttons ( I just love buttons) ,some pretty foil paper in pink and chocolate,new fancy edging scissors and lots more.

Sorry I'm late posting this but have been busy packing up my stash ready for the house move.Get along to the Craft Barn and join in their FAB competition.You will have to be quick and work out all the answers but if not they have some great things to buy or maybe make a Christmas wish list .

Christmas card and template

For anyone new to card making a template and a couple of finished cards.It can be very easy to make a quick and simple card this way.In the past I have combined purple with lime green,grey with pinks or lilacs,grey with lemon,silver and pale blue.Most colour combinations look good.Just score and fold on the dotted line after cutting.

Christmas Girl

So much for packing up my stash,I just couldn't resist making one more card. This was a labour of love making up the wreath from several bits and then cutting away the paper from the outside edges.The pack I used to make up the wreath simply says decorative sticker and nothing else,no country of manufacture or address.The image and button print are from Pollycraft.

Secret Crafter challenge 52 have a theme of 'Celebration' and what better than Christmas.

Sketch and Stash challenge 20 is the layout I have used.All the elements on this card are new except for the green ribbon and bit of lace which came from my stash.

1st Birthday

This is my last card for today and the next few weeks as I am moving and have to pack everything up.My card covers two challenges.

Why is there never enough time for card making.I've abandoned my ironing and any other housework today except for cooking which is another great passion.This is my take on 3 challenges set earlier this week.Sorry I'm late.

The Pink Elephant challenge 34 "Something with dots,punch and a tag". I think that sounds right.My backing paper has spots, snowflakes are punched and Cherry kisses snowball girl is a tag.

Pollycraft Monday challenge 25 " 5 S words.Snowflakes,sparkles,spots,stripes and swirls,the idea is to use as many as you can.I've managed spots,snowflakes and sparkles.

Cupcake Challenge 59 " Cute as a bug "

I started out with a cream card stock which I inked around the edges with brown and a die cut leaf which I used as a mask.Using yellow,orange and brown ink around the edges of the leaf to leave an image .It looked so pretty I couldn't bear to cover it up completely so I decided to use it as a base for the butterfly .The butterfly was stamped and coloured,the yellow sections were heat embossed to make them shiny.

Piggy dreaming

I've not been too well this week so I am only just posting cards I made for challenges last Saturday.I'm not sure if I will make the deadline but as I am in Australia it does give me a few more hours.

Secret Crafter Saturday challenge 51. "Animal Antics ".My little piggy is only sleeping but he was too cute not to use.

Unscripted Sketches 25. I've used the basic layout for my card.

I've cut a piece of purple card to the size I wanted.All the papers used are from Office Works and were given to me by a friend. The stamp for the sentiment was also given to me by a friend so I don't know its origin.It's not very easy to see on the dark paper but it says 'One little baby,many happy hearts' . I have some very kind and generous mates.The sleeping piggy image is from Lily-Boo's ,last week I bought the pig,mouse and hedgehogs sets .
