time for scrap -  challenge 11 - Idioms with animal names .

Sheep are usually favourite as there are many greetings which use the word EWE but I chose this cute cow . I could have also gone with ' happy birthday to MOO ' or to incorporate the little bee as well ' haBEE birthday to MOO'. The background is very very thin crepe paper and to be honest I did think it was going to tear as I cut it with scissors ( craft knife just chewed it up ) . I went straight to the felt tip pens for this one.

a bit of sparkle

The sun coming through the window on the bottom pic caught the sparkle just as I clicked away.

 I used an aperture card as a base and used  sequin waste which I sponged over to make the background. Washi tape and a punched heart add extra interest to my simple coffee cup card.The sentiment I printed out on thick card so it is slightly raised up.

Happy Tuesday - I'm off to clean the oven ( my favourite job ) as if . My laundry is blowing in the breeze and later I will make lasagne  and salad for dinner .

A bit chic in purple

I've been using the same camera to take my pics for quite a few years now and never bothered to read the instruction manual  , I try not to touch any of the buttons. For some reason the first few pics were a bit blurred and I wondered if I had  accidentally pressed the settings button . As you can see from the above I tried a few settings with very different results .
The top picture has picked up way too much sparkle ,the grey paper has barely a shimmer . The colour of the dress in the top picture is exactly right but the dark center of the flower should be the same shade as the purple washi tape frame.
The bottom picture has the right grey background and whilst the washi tape and the flower center match the dress is not the right colour purple.

Happy Birthday

How time flies this is the 5th Monday in July and my last card as GD for Incy Wincy . Thanks to all the lovely sponsors for their super images . This week the challenge is Birthdays and the sponsors are Lacy Sunshine and 2 Cute Ink . I've used  'Clown  Eleanor '  from Lacy Sunshine , the balloons are perfect for a birthday card.

Christmouse in July

The lighting is not very good as it's early evening - the card stock is a lovely deep cherry colour and the strip at the bottom is spruce green  .I have put glitter on the red berries and the spruce branch but it doesn't show up .

A little wedding love

 I can see me making more of these in different colours. I just need to be a bit more exact cutting the panels and also in adding the pearls ,the center one needs moving ever so slightly.

I Love ProMarkers - challenge  178 - Christmas in July - I did some  colour mixing of red and blue to get just the right shade of purple I wanted .

Cupcake Sparkles

This card seems to have a bit of everything ,lots of glitter on the cupcake ,stitching ,lace gems ,paper piecing and some very pretty papers. The cupcake image came from  not just mum .

Tulip Bookmarks

This week at Incy Wincy Designs Challenge  the theme is " Read all about it " . Our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps  . I used Bugaboo Tulip Tag which I re sized  to make my bookmark ,I then cropped the small butterfly ,enlarged it and used it to cover the tag hole at the top edge.The design is the same on both sides of the bookmark which I coloured using pencils .I added some beads to give the bookmarks a little weight .

Dragon delivery anyone ?

The challenge this week at Incy Wincy is 'things with wings - . the sponsor is Doodle Dragon Studios and I've used this cute stork making his delivery . The background papers were just the right colour but sadly only scraps so there is a blank area behind the main image , I used washi tape to define the sections.

A fashion plate

I think this is called a pagoda shaped card. All the fashion plates are from Graphic45.

My second week as guest designer

Blogger seems to be up the creek at the moment so I've reverted back to HTML to get this posted .I tried all day yesterday with no luck .

A simple happy birthday

I used sequin waste as a stencil to make my own background paper.

This card was created using a sheet from Nancy Watt. Once I had made my backing paper it was an easy task to pick out a few elements and stick them down .

Summer Lovin

                                      

Wow ,I blinked and there went six months ,the DIY projects I was supposed to be doing during the Autumn haven't even started yet ,not an awful lot of crafting either ,what have I been doing ?

For the next five weeks I am guest designer at Incy Wincy and so I'm hoping my mojo will appear and make some great cards with the lovely images from the sponsors . This week our sponsor is  StampFairy  , I've used Herb from the Summer collection .

Brown check paper from Stampin Up ,Blue paper Kaisercraft , spotty strip is chipboard from heidi grace. All the other bits are just made by me .

Busy being fabulous

Wow  ,  I love this paper but it's hard on the eyes . It would be lovely to have the space and the money to have ribbons ,buttons and ric rac in every colour but it's just not possible ,I wanted black ric rac and had to use some ink to dye this yellow stuff. The large stars are cut by hand and a star punch for the small ones.I love this stamp but trying to get a perfect image is not easy -I had 8 attempts before I was happy .

Cookies for the weekend

Friday morning -  make a card or bake biscuits - the baking wins every time - I love being in the kitchen . From left to right we have fat rascals then cookies with milk and white choc chips and the front ones are crystallized ginger .  The recipe for the cookies makes over 100 so I split the mix into four portions  and freeze the other 3 .Well I'm off to see the physio with my back AGAIN .

Time to sew

Another card with a sewing theme , there are lots of elements to this card but at the same time it has a bare unfinished look about it . Any suggestions ? The torn paper was deliberate and I distressed the edges of the circle.

Feeling Sketchy - sketch 60 -  above . Option to use ribbon , I used lace and ribbon and this cute little button.

A Stitch in Time

Not my usual sort of card but I guess it's OK. I forgot to change the stitch size on my sewing machine ,oops ,BIG BIG stitches .

Bunny love

As much as I enjoy cardmaking it's not the only thing I do .I love my cross stitch,knitting ,sewing with fabric ,sewing on paper.Over the years I think I've tried most things including  batik ,soft toys ,
candle making ,jewellery . It's good to have a change now and then- so here is Miss Maggie Rabbit .How cute are those boots.You can buy the pattern ( as I did )which includes the rabbit ,dress and boots as well as a little cape which I haven't done yet  or you can buy the complete kit with fabric etc. from Alicia Paulson at Posie :Rosy Little Things
