A few cards I made in June

I made these cards but didn't have the time to enter them into any challenges - I have been busy painting inside the house and also getting the garden into shape before the winter weather kicked in.

Southern Girls - challenge 162 - stuck on you - I used joggle eyes as my stuck on element- still keeping this card very CAS.


It seems forever since I last posted  - I did make some cards at the end of April and posted them off completely forgetting to take a photo.

The two of us

This  card uses some of my washi tape stash -    the background is very very pale blue  - just need to add a sentiment -still deciding

'come rain or shine I'm glad your mine'

DAD cards

 

 

 

I was asked for a Dad card with a motorbike - as you can see two very different cards - I give the top  image a modern paper to bring it up to date and the bottom image I added a slight bit of colour to match the trendy paper - the bottom card was picked which was when I added the sentiment - I will leave the top card blank until another male birthday of Fathers Day come around.

Pretty in pink

 

 

Once the images were coloured I added glitter to the veil and the bottom of her dress - I added a Wink of Stella to his bowtie and waistcoat - not easy to see on the photo.

CCC digi creations- challenge 69 - one for the girls - In the UK Mothers Day is in March and this is for my MIL.

Beccy's Place - March challenge - I coloured the image then chopped it up and layered each section on black

.I'm not a person who goes for bold bright colours but Gerberas are the exception OR so I thought -when I passed my local florist yesterday I had a look inside and there were some beautiful Gerberas in white and the palest of pinks - who knew ?

A bit of twine

 

 

Lets Craft and Create - challenge 123 - entwined - I have a big bag of twine in some really pretty colours but I can come up with any clever ways to use it. The sentiment at the bottom says 'happy mothers day'.

 Scrapbook Boutique - March challenge - I went with shapes similar to the pencils and also the rainbow assortment of colours.

A little bit of Christmas

 

 

I 'm not really sure about this card -I love the background paper but I when I added silver or pale blue tones it looked a bit drab and boring - bring on the pink - a pale pink.

 

 

Christmas Card Throwdown   -  March sketch - I wasn't sure if my little tree at the bottom of the card would be allowed but then I noticed a member of the DT has some silver holly on her card.

 

Southern Girls - challenge 155 - pop it up -  I popped up my little  pink tree.

A couple of baby cards for my charity box - sorry about the patches of sunlight on the photos, it's just very very sunny here atm.

All dressed up

I stamped a swirl pattern with Versamark and clear embossed.

I use distress inks in 'worn lipstick' and 'weathered wood'

the dress form stamp is just  from a set I got in K-mart . the red dots and heart are just punched from card coloured with the ' worn lipstick ' and the covered with glossy accents.

 Tuesday Morning Sketches -sketch 392 -  you mentioned using a Bible page which I did not really want to try so used a book page instead -  if you add  texture and colour you can keep the script visible and not desecrate your Bible.

In the Pink

 

It's the first day of Autumn but we still have very hot weather -  a great shaft of sunlight which shows up on the left hand side of my card.

 

 

Passion for ProMarkers - challenge 384 - In the Pink

 

I used the two stamps at the top to create the background and then stamped the rose on another piece of card - all coloured in with AquaMarkers - I love being able to add lots of water to get these delicate colours - looking at my card I think maybe I should have added a small border of green then black around the large main  panel.

Using up old bits and pieces

In an attempt to tidy my craft stuff I found several sheets of half used  rub on sentiments ,orange flowers,some black borders and musical peel offs- all destined for the rubbish but at the last minute I decided to put them to good use and make some simple cards for my charity box.

I think this is the first time I have bought brown papers - I really liked the designs and hope I can make some pretty cards with the papers.These two cards were made with one sheet of striped paper and a tiny amount if the diamond pattern.I think the blue works really well with the brown.

All buttoned up

I never got back to the card making yesterday so this morning I made sure Bella had her breakfast and was in a sunny spot in the lounge.I won the sentiments stamp a few years ago and as it's unmounted I have no idea where it came from- the flowers are from Creative stamping magazine .
I used AquaMarkers and lots of water.

A helping hand or should that be paw

Bella looking in the box of ink pads - it's important to pick the right colour.

I was hoping to make a couple of cards this morning but Bella had other ideas -  she picked a 'Happy Birthday " stamp.  I'm sure once the sun moves away I can have my desk back.

I used a rick st dennis image coloured with watercolour pencils - the sentiment is a stamp from a woodlands hug set.

03 Warm Wishes

This stamp was still sitting on my desk from about 2 weeks ago - ( I'm very bad at keeping things tidy).I used watercolour pencils and added a wink of Stella to the flowers.

01 Birthday Bird

I hope you all had a good time with family and friends over the holidays - we don't do the chrissy thing in our house and when I asked my DH what we should have for our main meal on Dec 25th he said "lamb curry " and delicious it was.

I Love ProMarkers -  challenge -  325 Anything goes - I used AquaMarkers and it has to be said there was a lot of water involved to get the colour just right.

More Trees

 

 

Well , as predicted yesterday I was stuck for ideas and carried on with the punched trees. I must admit I don't like them all and prefer the softer colours.

I looked through all my Christmas stamps and then looked through a whole lot more digi images and nothing inspired me - so back to very basic card making with a couple of frames and a punched tree.I love the paper from the top card ,almost vintage. I was busy re-sealing the deck out back yesterday and I was hoping to do a second coat today but it's raining - such a welcome sight - so

I'm off to the craft table - I have a funny feeling there will be more cards just like these - inspiration is in short supply.

Birthday Owl

 

I think this paper was a magazine freebie and so was the Woodware  owl stamp set. I used AquaMarkers to colour him.As this card was for a man I couldn't decide what embellishments would work so I left it plain and simple.

Happy Birthday

Like many of you I have a few sentiment stamps but usually only use a handful and this 'Happy Birthday' stamp from Stamp-it is one that I use again and again.

Framed

About 8 years ago I made my visit to New Zealand ( a place I love to go ) . Driving around we came across a  shop which was really a haven for quilters and had some lovely fabric . In a little corner were a few bits of crafts stuff and I picked up sheet ( 6 on a sheet) of these 3D handbags. Over the years I have only used 2 so thought it was time to dust them and get them on a card.


I love this top card the colours really work for me but the bottom one does nothing for me at all and I struggled to find the right paper.
