I paper pieced the chair and the cat I stuck on some very thick card so he is slightly raised , I tried him on some sticky pads but it was too high and didn't look right.

Rubber Boots -it's raining

A few years ago as part of a longer trip I spent a few days in Helsinki ,Finland .They take their rubber boots to a whole new level -shops full of every colour and pattern you could ever want . I really wanted a pair but space in my case was already tight.

Over at The Lollipop Ladies ,challenge 53 we have Sherbies and embossing .I have to confess I've never eaten a Sherbie. I struggled with this one as I'm not a fan of orange but my umbrellas worked quite well and pulled the whole thing together. Prize on offer $10.00 for Annabelle Stamps.

Craft Your Passion - challenge 125 - Emboss It -Dry or Wet -I'm not a great fan of wet embossing -so dry it is on my umbrellas which are wet.

Deepest Sympathy

I rarely make Sympathy cards but when I do they have to be old school and quite respectful.I like to use black,grey,lilac , pale green and possibly lemon. I would only use bright colours if requested ,say pink for the death of a young girl .
Once the colour has been decided what to put on the front ,if you choose an image like my poppies then a short sentiment is best . For something a bit longer perhaps in a frame Psalm 48 is good as is Matthew 11.28 and whilst it's not pertaining to bereavement Psalm 23 'The lord is my Shepherd ' is very soothing to read.
If in doubt about the religious element then 'Our thoughts are with you at this sad time ' , or possibly 'With Deepest Sympathy ' .

All ready for 2013 with this easel calendar -I wish ,at least I will know what the date is .The fashion plate is from graphic45 'fashionista collection' ' haute couture' . Vintage is a rub on from Quickmate and aptly called vintage .

Up,Up and away in Turkey

We gathered very early in the morning quite excited about our trip.

Our pilot was very skilful and at one point we were very close to the ground and I managed to get a shot of the other balloons.

We've all seen balloon landings in Africa where the basket hits the ground and then falls over ,not so for our pilot who landed us on this small trailer - we were somewhat impressed.

I decided it was time for a change on my blog and things went from bad to worse .I don't think I will have much spare time today so just for the moment the colours are pretty naff, need I say more. Acetate window

Our challenge at The Lollipop Ladies is all about Barley Sugar and Acetate. I used a sticker on acetate and then added glass paint .The bottle said 'golden yellow' but I think orange is nearer the mark so I was a bit disappointed that it is so dark.. I've also used an acetate sentiment . Mad For Markers are providing the prize.

This little cutie was coloured with Promarkers ,don't you just love them . A set of these pens came my way from Merry and I have probably had them more than a year before I started to use them . I bought the apple buttons for a card I will be posting on Wednesday but decided to use them for this card as well.

My needle case is so scruffy I've had about ten years ,this was a perfect excuse to make a new one .I'm not terribly impressed with finished result but this was the only cross stitch pansy in my collection of patterns.
