The paper flowers which were so popular now seem a bit dated , I'm not going to buy them again. For this flower I've used 4 large ones and folded them into quarters ,stuck them onto a base and added a small centre flower with red half pearl.The white border I stamped with a black flourish.The sentiment is from Ippity.

I've been up since six this morning, it's now 11.15am and I'm not showered or dressed yet and more importantly I haven't had any breakfast. Which comes first , the shower ,I will enjoy my brunch much more if I am nice and clean.

How do you know when it's finished, should I have inked the edges or put something in the corner triangles.I'm never sure how much to add, your suggestions would be appreciated. If I'm honest I think I'm more of a clean and simple card maker ,but I do envy all those of you who add bits of lace ,tags,buttons and the kitchen sink and make great cards.

The Lollipop Ladies - challenge 14 - Hearts and the colours of Smarties. I haven't eaten Smarties for years,are the orange ones still orange flavoured. It's difficult to use all the colours so pink,blue and yellow are the main colours ,the background paper has lots of colours.

Hello

I've had a whole week without going into the craft room or posting anything.On Monday and Tuesday I was down in Hobart ( about two and a half hours South of where we live) .On Monday evening we went to see Billy Connolly who was very funny .On Wednesday I was in Burnie (one and a half hours North of where we live). I bought a couple of craft bits from both places . Thursday was catch up day with laundry ,shopping and a doctors appointment . Friday was ironing ,YUK ,some sewing ,cleaning and a library trip. Not much fun. Saturday just seemed to disappear ,we went out for lunch and then I went clothes shopping but also bought some very pretty craft borders.

I'm hoping to make a little something today . Have a great day .

Wish Big

Well ,the rain stopped any chance of a bike ride today so I got to make a card instead.

Inspiration Card Sketches -challenge 102 -the above layout which I flipped around.The papers are just the very last bits of A4 sheets I bought from my local craft shop.

Sometimes going into the craft room is a "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde "affair ,I never know quite what the outcome of my cards will be. I can only apologise for this one ,it's all a bit fussy and old maidish for my liking. I do love the image which is "Chloe" from DZ Doodles . The lilac paper is scented drawer liner ,the square doily I won as part of a prize from a challenge win. I've used water colours on the image.

Tea Time

I don't often do layout challenges as more often than not I get them wrong,bits missed out or put in the wrong place. My tag has the punch hole at the wrong end as I had already stuck down the chipboard shape with glue. I used 'Ippity stamp.'a bit of burlap', the paper is all Basic Grey .The little teapot I cut by hand.

Get Sketchy - challenge 74 - the sketch at the top of the post.A very simple layout using shades of purple ,the corner stamp is one of my favourites ,I love the elegant shape.

A is for Adore

This card is made using the Papercraft Star sketch at the top , challenge 32 . The frame is from The Graphic Fairy and was coloured in using pencils and chalks.

A day at the races -need a hat

It's a bit rainy and very grey today ,the light is not very good for taking pics. I've done my best but you can see shadows . The butterflies all have a green gem in the middle which is not very clear.I'm using a different camera today as Steve has taken the good one to take some work related stuff.

The Lollipop Ladies - challenge 13 - Mint Fudge shown above. For some reason I really struggled to come up with ideas and this card is my third attempt .

The flower and hat band are made from gauze ,my first aid box had several unopened packs (I have enough stuff in there for any medical emergency imaginable ,thankfully never used ).I mixed a small amount of water with brown acrylic paint in a dish ,soak the gauze then leave to dry.

Valentine

Well it's that time of year again when almost all the challenges are centred around Valentines Day. I seem to remember the card I made last year was entered into 12 challenges.See if I can make it 13 this time around.
The card stock is pearlised grey ,the heart is flocked and the sentiment is a stamp I've had for over 3 years and today is the first time I've used it.

Clean and simple

A new challenge called "Less is More " -week one is black,white and pink.The flower and sentiment are from Stampin Up, the branch stamp is from Kaiser Craft. The tricky part for me was cutting the branch out ,I usually end up cutting bits off .

It's a Girl

365 Cards - day 337 -Photo inspired -shown above top. I rifled through my bag of pink papers for small scraps to make the quilt .The baby hand is a small button ,rub ons for the word baby.
The sentiment printed out in Chocolate.

Flower Power

The papers are from Kaiser Craft. The flower is fabric with a punched paper circle and a button.The sentiment is a rubber stamp. The colours are very subtle so this may not be to everyone's taste.

A birthday greeting

Tall skinny cards are a nightmare to photo ,especially if you are not very savvy with the camera. I'm sure there is a way to get a better picture .I've cropped a couple of bits to show the details.This card is for my lovely friend Lyndsey who has a birthday . Lyndsey also introduced me to card making a few years ago., I'm not sure that was one of her better ideas.

The background paper is Little Miss from Kaisercraft,the flower I stamped four times is from Amazing Creations.I've added a tiny sprinkle of glitter to the centre of each flower.The sentiment is a peel off.
