A bit of a swirl

After yesterdays disaster here is my  card using the sketch from day one  . As usual I made the tag and then hoped I would be able to find a paper with the right colours.

A Mothers love

This card was made from bits  n bobs - a forest green cardstock - the green stripe paper and the rabbit are Graphic 45 - the little white frame was a magazine freebie and the pink paper and hearts border from my stash .

Happy Tuesday

Happy Tuesday - as the mercury is set to rise AGAIN this week I will get the chance to make some cards - there has to be an upside to the hot weather. I was ironing at 6am and will do a little gardening before it gets too hot.

The paper ,sentiment and birdcage came from a cheap kit I bought in K-mart.

Valentines in blue and brown

I popped a piece of black paper behind my card just for the photo. I stamped the tiny leaf pattern and then inked generously with the same colour .  Valentines cards are usually red or pink ,I wanted to move away from the traditional .

Yummy Cookies -the non fattening kind

Do you have leftover scraps of felt and a few beads -turn them into something your little  girl will love . It goes without saying do not give them to very small children . The hearts are about 6.5 cm at the widest and the circles are 5.5 cm diameter . Cut two large shapes in a cookie colour and one small shape in a paler colour. Stitch the small shape to one of the large ones using blanket stitch .Decorate with beads or you could embroidery small flowers or shapes .Stitch the two large shapes together adding a small amount of stuffing - use whip stitch .

Painted heart

Over at Creative Craft Cottage the challenge is to use felt or fabric on your project.  I used fabric paint and a heart stencil - the paint is quite thick so I added a splash of water and applied it with a firm brush . The results were very good and had crisp edges . There was a small amount of paint left on my palette so I added lots of water and did a third stencil -as you can see from the bottom pic the paint oozed around making a much bluer background .
I'm off for a coffee and when the fabric is dry I will cut out the hearts and sew them together .

Well my coffee has gone and I've done a bit of laundry -the blue paint is dry so now I've  added yellow paint to flowers which had empty centers. My intention was to sew the two hearts right sides together ,turn and stuff  but the white outline around the heart made me think shabby and clipped - I stitched carefully around the blue heart then clipped right up to the stitches. I was intending to use this as a  pin cushion but it's so pretty I think it just needs a ribbon to hang on the door handle.

Yummy cherries

I'm holding my breath ,sweaty palms  - am  I  having an anxiety attack - no  , just stamping directly onto my card - how I hate to do this - do I have enough ink on my stamp ? - do I have too much ? -

The cherry hearts and the ribbon are exactly the same colour as the spots on the paper - the hearts are on textured paper and the ribbon is very shiny - the camera doesn't really reflect how pretty this card is.

Butterflies = Summertime

I trimmed the edge off the card front and stuck the flower paper on the inside of the card.

The green stripe paper I've had forever and had the black dots already printed on it. The butterflies are done with swiss dots embossed card .

Incy Wincy -  Add Texture - Lace and swiss dots .

Phew ,it's getting hot

I'm not going to do any gardening today it's just hot and getting hotter . I was up at 5.30 this morning with a horrible migraine -I'm just not a hot weather person . The good news is that I can craft without feeling guilty about the weeds.

The watches are from Graphic45 and the quotes paper is from Kelly Panacci.

Happy Monday

It's very very sunny today so my card blank looks almost white when in fact it's a very pretty pastel pink. After seeing the shaped cards on Merry's blog out came the compass ,ruler and a craft knife. I drew a line diagonally on the card - cut out a circle which I scored in half -  line up the score line  with the pencil line and draw around the section of circle on the top right  of the card - use a craft knife or sharp scissors to cut away the top section of the card - DOES THAT MAKE SENSE.

Creative Craft Cottage - challenge 13 - quote me - I'm guessing this quote doesn't apply to cupcakes.

The Squirrel and the Fox - challenge 61 - Show off your new stuff - jeweled flowers in my case.

I used the layout from a card making book  -not sure if it works or if I like it  -I might have another go in different colours. A blessed change from Christmas cards.

Flower Flourish - Two of a kind

A couple of simple cards using a Birdie Brown image - the two smaller flowers printed out twice and raised on sticky dots.
