Christmas in July


Christmas in July seems to more popular every year ,my husband wants to know who started this idea. So ,who was the first to bring about Christmas in July.

I Love ProMarkers - challenge  178 - Christmas in July - I did some  colour mixing of red and blue to get just the right shade of purple I wanted .

I don't know who originated it, but it's really caught on. I remember when I was little, a close family friend was away at Christmas and so we celebrated it in July to be with them....but the sales? That's new. I am loving the purple!
So glad you could come play with us at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week!

Well, I too was curious about Christmas in July thinking for sure it had to be an Aussie invention due to the weather being cooler in July but Wikipedia says that it was more likely the US. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_in_July
