This is very easy to make.I've used felt as it doesn't fray but you can use fabric if you over lock it well or iron it onto some interfacing.I sew mine by hand but you could use the sewing machine.
Once you have cut two of each pattern piece sew the inner ear pieces on to the head. I sew the nose and mouth at this stage. I used a small piece of pink felt for the nose but sometimes I just sew a nose with pink cotton. Sew the 2 head pieces together leaving a small gap to add the filling.Once you are happy with the filling sew the gap up.I use black beads for the eyes but you could use buttons or just sew something quirky and cute.I use extra strong thread and once the bead is secure I take the thread right through the head to back and pull it tight to give a little shape.
Sew the 2 bodies together again leaving a gap to add the filling. The amount of filling is a personal choice but don't overfill.
The head is attached with a hot glue gun.Hold the body upright on flat surface with one hand ,balance the head against it so the rabbits chin is touching the flat surface.I only glue a section between the eyes and the nose to the body not the whole head.
Using the hot glue gun I attached a large fluffy tail.If you have some white wool you can make a pom pom.
My husband has a wicked sense of humour.I asked him If I should post the pattern for this little cutie ,he laughed and said you wouldn't know what is was. If you need to make something quickly for next weekend then 6 pieces are all that's needed. If you haven't all died laughing I will post the pattern and instructions tomorrow.
Polka Doodles challenge- week 11- A sketch and theme of blue and brown. I've used a stencil on the base card and used blue and brown to add the diamond effect. It's hard to see on the picture but I've paper pieced the dark brown patches, his mittens and his boots.I've added a couple of snowflakes as I think he would be good for Christmas or a Winter Birthday.
It's Thursday already and yet another quick post, no time to chat.Have a great day. 365 Cards -Day 24 -Terrific Ten.-Ten or more papers on your card. You can see mine above. My first thought was to cut a few squares and stick punched heart shapes on them, that was the easy option.I decided on a mandala card and all the pieces are hand cut using my Hot off the Press template. I added a couple of blue papers to add a little contrast.
365 Cards -Day 23 -Stencil it- I've used a plastic decorating stencil for the diamonds and part of a brass stencil to make my card.As usual I had no idea when I started what the end result would be.I was thinking vintage wallpaper. I aged a cream card with gold before I started stencilling.I decorated a spare piece of card with the same design, stamped the sentiment and attached with ribbon.
365 Cards -Day 22 -Movie Monday-the new release of Alice in Wonderland starring the very talented Johnny Depp is our inspiration for today. By now you should know who's in the tree.
Still not sure ,why it's the Cheshire Cat. As soon as the card was finished I realised I could have done so much more. I should have made a sliding screen at the back of the tree to cover up the cat completely. Too late now.
I hope you all had a good weekend ,the men are back in the garden this morning so I am going along to my local craft store for a free card making demo. It has an Asian theme so I hope it will inspire me .
365 Cards -Day 21 - Super sketchy Sunday .This was a lovely simple sketch ,I've used peels off to create my card. I stuck the flower outlines to card and raised with sticky dots .Ribbon and pearls finish it off.
Apologies for the photo I should have closed the blinds to keep out the sun.
365 Cards- Day 20 - Lets make some noise- Bells ,beads, rice, anything as long as it makes a noise .My first thought was wedding bells but I just love anything Christmas related . Reindeer and Christmas tree from my friend Jeanne.
When I think cotton I think fabric because I enjoy sewing. My flowers are made from cotton print fabric and lace with a sparkly brad. This is my second attempt at a card for this challenge so if you think this one is rubbish you should have seen the first one. It would be lovely if I could have a whole week when I liked all the cards I made.
This was my final selection of papers to chose from ,the pink and orange vellum on the left reminds of the beautiful saris I've seen in India but it had to go.Two of the papers I've used were given to me by my lovely friend Jeanne in South Australia. You can never have too many friends like that.
How many times have you looked at your craft stash and said "I'm not buying anymore stuff".We all have I'm sure ,but when you're given a challenge that involves different paper designs we never have enough.
365 Cards challenge Day 18- Plentiful Paper,Use 3 or more of these Gingham,Paisley,Plaid,Houndstooth or Toile.
Happy Friday out there.I've had a busy week ,my garden has been full of men disrupting my usual peace and quiet. They've laid a new drive and landscaped the gardens areas,it's very tidy but not nice to look at.I'm a bit of a wilderness person myself ,I asked my husband if we should gather together all the snails to keep them safe until the work was finished,he declined to comment. We have much needed rain this morning,a sound I love to hear. The rest of the week has been sunny and very warm, this sunset picture was taken from our deck on Wednesday evening ,the light colour across the bottom of picture is the Tamar river. I haven't enhanced or tampered with the pic in anyway it was just a beautiful sky.
365 Cards-Day 17 - Twinches - My 2x2 is decorated with an image from My Grafico, the background paper I've had for so long I don't remember where it came from which is a shame as I would like another sheet.
I was so busy making cards yesterday I didn't even say hello when I posted on my blog.If you were celebrating St. Pats Day I hope the hangover is not too bad and for the rest us it's always good to get to Wednesday, half way to the weekend. I've taken quite a shine to the vintage images on offer at Digital Two for Tuesday.I hope I can make something with the second image which is also baby related.
I wasn't sure how best to add a little detail to the drapes ,I finally decide a fine line of glue and a little glitter. It works for me.
I really set myself a challenge with this one.My cutting skills with scissors or a craft knife are not very good.I printed this cute image from Sliekje twice ,the second image I mounted on stiff card and attached him with sticky pads for a 3D effect.I've used 4 red eyelets across the top.
Come and join us at Digi Kitty with our Easter theme. If you played along last week you will already have your image ,if not pop along to our shop .When you enter you will get another image free. I had already coloured my little bunny but couldn't find just the right paper so this is gift wrap on my card.
It's almost 4.20pm and I'm posting my card,I think this is the earliest I've been.I need to set aside some time each day for the 365 card challenge or I will never make it through until the end of the year.
The background paper is from Momenta and I just love the colours. It's such a busy paper I thought I had better keep the rest of the card simple .The paper for the tree I made myself using similar colours to draw circles on handmade paper.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, with luck I will be back later with another card for 365.
I stamped orange card with a dark blue swirl and added my birdies.
365 Cards Day 11- Lovely Landscapes .I thought my only option for this was a paper covered in snowflakes or Christmas trees but then I remembered this beautiful oriental inspired paper with the silver branches and butterflies.I've used a leaf punch with some beautiful vellum to add a few leaves, I think I need to add a couple more.
365 Cards - Day 9 Song inspired .The words from the beautiful song"What a wonderful world " are the basis for the card. This is my creation.I've used lots of chalk on this image which came from The Treehouse.
