Fun with Lilac and Aqua

This week The Treehouse have given a fab image of a cute reindeer to play with, this is my entry.

Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club challenge 6 are going Girly.

Sassy Designs by Susie challenge 9 Lisa's combo Lilac and Aqua.

Unscripted Sketches challenge 44.I've used this layout.

Happy birdy

The freebies from Delightful Inspirations are getting cuter . Faith is such a generous person to do this each week. Once my little birdies were printed out I stuck them onto a card with a slight linen look and then coloured them in ,if you look closely the little birds have a textured look from the card underneath.Just another way to pretty things up.

holly buttons

I don't often use the free papers given in craft magazines as they are usually very garish and horrible, but today is the exception.I have to admit that this paper is very busy but cute with the angel pattern. The Holly buttons were part of the paper pack.

Beary distressing

Happy Friday, the weather here in Tasmania is lovely as Autumn approaches.Warm sunny days with cooler evening evenings, great for sitting on the deck watching the sunset.

I seem to have bear fever this week, this is my third little cutie.I think I must basically be a tidy person (but don't look in my craft room) cos when I see a challenge which involves distressing I'm the one who gets distressed.I find it difficult to get the look just right.Sorry about the lighting on this piccie.

There's Magic in the Air -Distressing- the image also comes from Magic.

Color Throwdown challenge 81 -Brown,Pink,White and Olive.

Rainy Bear

This little rainy bear is for challenge 43 at Unscripted sketches .There is a sketch to follow and a colour combo of blue, green, brown and a mushroomy sort of colour.I would love to tell you where the little bear came from but I don't seem to have a name on my computer.
This is also for Aimee's challenge 2 -buttons. I haven't entered my card as this challenge is really aimed at adults/children making cards together.

More cake needed

This is just a quick post ,I've decided to make today a card making day so I hope to be back later with some more offerings. It's hardly surprising I'm such a cuddly bunny when I saw the colour scheme for the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches all I could think about was orange/chocolate muffins. With this in mind I was off to the craft room.I've popped a piece of dark paper behind the card just for the piccie.
Tuesday Morning Sketches 34 -Orange,Dark Brown and Ivory or something similar.
The layout comes from Doodle Palace.
The image is from Moia and was freebie to celebrate her birthday.

Poor old Ted

We all have a "Poor old Ted "somewhere ,in the attic , basement or just at the back of a toy cupboard. The next time you have a spare 5 minutes get him out, give him a wash and put in a place where he can see what's going on.I've given my teddy a worn look but then added lace, groups of pearls and a charm.

My card uses this delightful teddy from The Digi Kitty who has been loved to death. It covers two challenges.

Crafty Catz challenge 20- Charming Bear -use a charm and a bear on your project.

Sew Many challenges week 5 - I've used the layout with a slight twist.

A little birdie

Well yesterday was a horrible day, after staying up for way too many hours on Saturday I was completely out of it. I was on auto pilot all day and did all my usual things like cooking and grocery shopping all without incident. The only casualty of the day was ironing my husbands work shirts ,the fly spray was on the worktop next to my spray starch, I'm not sure which one I used .

Polka Doodles challenge week 7. They have a layout and also a theme 'For the birds'.I'm not sure what sort of bird this is and it should probably be a different colour but hey I like it.I love spotty paper and last week at my local craft store demo I couldn't resist this paper.I couldn't wait to use it either .
Cute Daisy May challenge Flowers.

For Mum

Moving along with the Times challenge 34.This week they have a sketch and a theme of Mum.
Secret Saturday Challenge 71 also have a theme of Mum.
It's 10.15 in the evening and I've been up since 4.00am so this is my last post for today.
Good night and have a relaxing Sunday.

Birthday boy

This little card covers two challenges.Originally I paper pieced the middle of his sweater with the blue gingham paper but it didn't show up very well as it's a bit too pale.

Over at Hobby Paleis Renate has drawn this cute little chap who is free,go along and play and give her your support. She would love to see your cards.

I've used the sketch from Delightful Sketches number 16 with a little twist of my centre image.

Two cards ,one layout

Hi out there,Happy Friday. My cards for the Just Christmas and Birthdays challenge 15.
I bought a set of acrylic stamps on Wednesday which all have a male theme and along with this golfer is a fisherman and a handyman holding a spanner. The Top bloke is one of the greetings also included in the set.
I went for really vibrant colours but the picture is really bad.The orange background paper is exactly the same shade as his sweater .For some reason its looks much paler but the green patterned paper is OK.
My Christmas offering is a simple understated card which I quite like.

Beautiful blooms

My card making is a bit of a dream this week,it's Thursday already and I have only posted once.I spent most of Monday doing boring housework.Tuesday I went to the dentist with a broken tooth and did a grocery shop.Wednesday I went to my local craft shop to see a demo on the Prov Cricut, when I found out how much they cost I didn't hang around ,too expensive for my budget. So to Thursday, I spent this morning seeing a vein specialist as I have a nasty varicose vein. This evening I am going to a quiz night, give the grey cells a workout.
I did make this little offering which covers 3 challenges.

I've used the cute image from Delightful Inspirations which is free when you play along.

Owly duo

The Digi Kitti are being 'owly' this week. Go along to their blog and join in the fun. There is a Freebie as well as a chance to be guest designer next week.I've made two cards using their 'Elegant Owl ' which is lovely.
My CongratOWLations was made by inserting the image twice and changing the size and shape slightly of one owl. They don't very happy at being engaged ,reminds me of my wedding photos'(only joking).
My purple owl is very simple , I couldn't find my brads anywhere to attach the owl panel,in the end I used white drawing pins and flattened the stalks over. I have of course found the brads now it's too late.

Happy Birthday

I almost missed the deadline for this card.Delightful Inspirations have given away the most beautiful image this week.I hand cut the circle shape which was probably a bad idea as I was pushed for time but once I had the idea in my head I had to go along with it.I've used my favourite colours of grey, yellow and purple,I just love the combo.

Rock n Roll

Charisma cardz challenge 6 is to create something for a male. If you've already looked at my toadstool card you will know this is my second Fathers Day card. You could change the wording and use them for birthdays. The juke box and the shoes are from Pink Cat studio.

Tartan greeting

Over at SophistiCat challenge 21 Tartan is on the menu. I bought the black/white tartan paper from a local discount shop but had no idea what I would put with it. I've used the lovely toadstool image from Stretch N' Bubbles and made a Fathers Day card.

Caring Dove

Over at There's Magic in the Air they have provided the most beautiful dove image to use in this weeks challenge. The idea is to make a caring card using the dove with the addition of pearls or swirls.Once I had printed out the image I cut a circle of acetate (very badly I might add ) which I placed over the dove and then chalked around the edges. The flower trim is a paper lace from my local discount shop.

One sketch = 2 Cards

When my husband left for work this morning I had a whole day to myself .No ironing, no cleaning ,no shopping and no MOJO either. I have 5 cards to make today and it's taken me about 3 hours to make just 2. I've been covered in glitter and glue ,my craft table and the floor are covered in paper I got out and didn't use. I haven't got any chocolate either, it can only get worse.
The birthday card has some very pretty embossed white paper and I've used lots of punch holes around my flower and circle .
I feel I cheated a bit with the Christmas card .I'm not really a fan of peel offs but for the colour scheme I picked they seemed like the best option.

February's birthstone Amethyst

It's the middle of the week already, time flies when you're having fun. I'm not sure I have the colour quite right but I like the card anyway.I printed the cup and saucer out a second time to give some dimension to the card.

When ever I use a free image I like to give credit to the kind person who supplied it,for some reason I don't have a name to go with this one.I will come back and give them a mention when I find it.

recycle newspaper

I thought I would throw another card in for this theme over at The Digi Kitty where I am Guest Designer.I'm not sure if it will appear on their site,we will see.We all have lots of newspaper so I though I would use some of mine. Am I taking this recycle thing too far, do I need to get a life,HELL YES.
Come along to The Digi Kitty and play,I would love to see what you can make.I was looking for egg boxes this morning, with a little effort I think they would make great flowers.
Stick the newspaper to thin card.
I've used brown, green and gold to dab across the paper. You can use whatever colours you like.
I let it dry for a while and then stamped with my heart and butterfly stamps.
You can see the newsprint clearly on the insert at the top.

Guest designer

Earlier this week I made a very pretty card using a free image from The Digi Kitty. My card (the apothecary jar) can also be seen on their site.I am lucky to be guest designer so you will see more of my creations,I hope I can make a good job of it.

The theme is recycle. When all the Christmas crackers have been pulled don't throw them away. The middle section of the cracker usually has some very pretty shiny paper wrapped around it.

I've used a freebie image from The Digi Kitty and cut out the paper from inside the cup with a craft knife, keep the heart to put back later.Place the cracker paper behind and finish off your card.I use this method instead of paper piecing on large areas.

In the pink

It's almost the end of my weekend here in Australia and this is my last card for today. It covers 3 challenges.

Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge 31 . I've used this layout for my card.

The Pink Elephant challenge 52. All about Pink -in honour of Ella.

Secret Crafter Saturday challenge 69 .Tones of one colour plus white.

I'm a bit disappointed in the picture, the ribbon is more cerise pink than red.The image is from Pollycraft. I've done lots of stitching which is hard to see and the paper on the right hand side of the card is embossed. Not one of my better efforts, it's just not good enough.Must do better tomorrow.

Birds of a feather

I've just come across Delightful Inspiration who have a freebie on offer. If you join in and use the freebie you will get another one as a reward and so it goes. It's very tempting to use a bit of artistic licence and colour the owls pink or purple but I've tried to keep it natural .This is my offering.

I have also used the layout from Sketch and Stash challenge 28. All the paper is from my stash ,the flowery background I stamped myself with a new flower stamp. The paper lace across the middle is also new.

Pink n Blue

After my comments on Paper Craft Planet this morning about being sick of all the cutie images I decided to do something different for my first card of the week.

The image is a freebie from The Digi Kitty .The papers are all magazine freebies ,the pink ribbon was a challenge prize.flower and pearl from my stash.
